A couple of weeks back we wrote in the blog about our CHAS accreditation. CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a rigorous process whereby organisations are assessed against industry standards to ensure quality and safety. In this week’s blog, we are pleased to present our updated CHAS certification. Read on to find out more about the strict processes we went through to obtain this accreditation.
CHAS Assessment
Successful CHAS registration shows that a contractor or business has the ability and resources to carry out their line of work in a safe and successful manner. Prior to accreditation, a lengthy assessment is undertaken. This will include risk assessments and observations of working practices which are judged against industry standards. CHAS thoroughly considers practices in terms of health and safety. Assessors will ask to see references, examples of previous work and evidence of training and qualifications
CHAS Assessors
The assessments are carried out by a member of CHAS’s 100 strong team of freelance assessors. All the professionals working for CHAS are highly knowledgable and experienced health and safety professionals. They are required to complete extensive training before commencing work with the regulatory body. They are also subject to close scrutiny, submitting a percentage of their assessments for quality assurance on a monthly basis. The rigorous processes and good practice of CHAS are what makes it such a reputable organisation.
Third-Party Contractors
You know that Reform Flooring are CHAS registered, but if you use a third-party contractor for any home improvements work, ensure you also check their accreditations.
